Session Date: 18 April 2026

Trouble with Teasel

  • Insight check for Teasel when questioned about Hex: she’s trembling, but playing it cool
  • More questions:
    • how Hex’s business works (doesn’t tell)
    • what they’ll do to Teasel if she fails (a bit hesitant but says they won’t hurt her)
    • how many has Hex got around (a handful)
  • More importantly: she doesn’t want to say how to find Hex.
    • A bit of negotiating, or trying to negotiate, but Teasel doesn’t budge
    • She mentions possibly sending Kaylin to meet Hex but the party doesn’t agree to that arrangement
  • Fletcher gives her a gesture of goodwill and Teasel agrees to lead them out
  • But first! Cloakers await outside the door we went into
    • We leave through a different exit but fail our Stealth checks (lawl) so we go into battle anyway but in considerably better positioning than if we went out the backdoor
    • It’s fine – the team makes quick work of the cloakers :3
  • Fletcher gathers cloaker brain juice! Yay science!
  • Tiel: You’re better than my last party // Pan: *pats Tiel’s head bit demeaningly* (icon)
  • Investigating the streets:
    • Fugue gets 3 gold
    • Pan finds 2 glass bottles of Faerûn Red Bull
    • Mal gets 100 gold and keeps it (*ixie voice* waow…)
    • Fletcher finds a bolted hatch, locked from the inside

Skelly Hatch

  • Hatch is under the spell of Arcane Lock
  • Fletcher calls Mal over and she unlocks it expertly with her Thieves Tools
  • Perception check: It’s trapped and Mal disarms it again yayyy
  • It’s a cramped basement turned impromptu study. There’s a skeleton curled up with skeletal wings wearing simple robes
    • They wear a holy symbol to Savras, the god of wizardry
    • This person died before the Collapse
  • Investigation checks:
    • A lot of scrolls bearing frantic variations of the crest of Halia drawn obsessively
    • Runes for ritual casting of divination spells
    • Leatherbound book completely covered in ink seemingly on purpose
    • Books on historical art: one on Halian art and another on Celestial Plane art
  • Could question the corpse but Fugue doesn’t have Speak with Dead prepared
    • Pan suggests putting the corpse into the bag of holding to which Fugue says fuck it we ball

Kaboom? Yes, Teasel, Kaboom!

  • Teasel leads us into a clearing full of torchstalk mushrooms. Uh-oh…
  • Tiel gives bardic inspiration to Pan and Fugue, and Fugue casts Resistance on Pan, who crosses to the other side
  • Fugue casts Resistance to Fletcher carrying Teasel, who goes next
  • As Fletcher crosses, Teasel casts Misty Step and shoots an arrow, setting off a series of explosions
    • Fletcher almost goes down, Pan and Fugue are caught in the splash damage
    • Teasel is dead. RIP o7
  • Pan hurriedly carries Fletcher back to Fugue’s side
  • Mal is frozen, hugging the wall as she watches the whole thing unfold :( She snaps out of it when Fletcher is brought back to safety by Pan
  • Party takes a short rest to heal up and check what’s on the other side – a cliff. Teasel was never going to lead us to Hex

Camp Shenanigans

  • It’s late afternoon when we get back to camp
    • Paris stares intently at Fugue with his little gay eyes wanting to talk to him
    • The party tells Kaylin about Teasel but not the conversation at Honeybee Tavern with the undead echoes. Hashtag Withholding
    • Still no sign of Cassiopeia :(
  • Fletcher’s Healing Potion brew finishes up

Fletcher invents the Faegerbomb

  • Mal and Pan heads to Fletcher’s tent to ask if she can brew more of the Red Bull potion
  • Mal asks if Fletcher can make a Potion of Fire Resistance and indeed she can because women can do anything hashtag WomenInSTEM
  • Fletcher was at Blackstaff Academy on scholarship + her mom went into debt for it
    • She was there for ~2 years and got dishonourably discharged for doing illegal experiments on people :3
  • Some time later, a letter came from the Apothecary’s Guild from Sebastian Westring, saying he saw potential in her
    • He essentially gave her a second chance and Fletcher took it
    • She became really good at it!
    • But then Sebastian fucked her over… we gotta kill this guy
  • Fletcher thanks Pan and Mal for helping her out and saving her life
  • Meanwhile, Fugue, who has been shamelessly eavesdropping, pops his head into the tent and asks about Fletcher’s experiments
    • She was interested in the potency of blood, if it affected spell components
    • And what it can do as a highly-specific poison
  • Fugue: Maybe that’s why Seb recommended you // M & P: Would not put it past him
  • Fletcher: I need to get back because I need to prove to my mother that I’m not as much of a fuck-up as I think I am
  • Mal pulls out the hellbooze and everyone takes a hefty swig of it!
    • Fletcher and Mal fail their Constitution saves
    • Pan and Fugue succeeds their saves! hashtag TheConstitutionBrothersGenderNeutral ?
  • Pan and Mal place the skeleton in Fugue’s tent, taking the time to pose it and everything
    • They both sleep in Pan’s tent afterwards :)
  • Party gets a few days of downtime gathering components for Fletcher’s potions

Paris & Fugue

  • Fugue discreetly(?) signals to Paris to talk in Paris’s tent
  • Paris has a favour to ask: he wants to know who killed Art and he’s too scared of Pan to ask them directly
    • Fugue: Anything for you :)
  • He also asks if Fugue knows Prestidigitation but sadly Fugue doesn’t :( Paris doesn’t say why
  • Fugue returns to his tent and in the middle of the night, he goes to Mal’s tent but she isn’t there
    • He snoops around for the artifact but doesn’t find it; he puts everything back in order and goes back to his tent to pretend-sleep

Tiel & Fletcher

  • Tiel brings fried mushrooms to Fletcher’s tent as some sort of hangover food
  • Tiel asks if she’s doing okay, if the other three were hassling her in her tent earlier, but Fletcher says it was weirdly fine
  • Fletcher freaks out a bit about having told the party her expulsion and feelings of being a failure
  • Tiel & Fletcher bond over being college drop-outs and fuck-ups
  • And they hug <3

Kaylin & Pan & Mal

  • In the middle of the night (?) Pan goes to Mal’s tent to sleep there
  • Kaylin goes to Mal’s tent but finds Pan instead and tells them he wants to talk to Mal specifically
  • The next day/night, Kaylin tells Mal about where to find the missing people taken by the Void attacks: in the 4th layer or deeper
    • Mal: In what conditions?
    • Kaylin: They’re fine :)
    • Insight check: It’s the truth as far as he knew, but there might be more to it that he’s not aware of due to his lack of clearance and/or knowledge

Riza & Pan

  • Riza calls Pan out of their tent and challenges them to a… sparring duel?
  • Pan wins (of course)
  • Riza: I was going easy on you lol

Speak with Dead

  • Everyone gathers in Fugue’s tent to ask this dead guy some questions!
  1. What did you see?
    • “I saw death, all consuming, the glowing star, the seventh soul. His highness, last of seven, heart of a dying star.”
  2. “Why did you hide in the basement?”
    • “I saw them coming after me, knowing I knew, so I hid. Studied. Prayed. Lost myself to the darkness, the eyes, the eyes, the eyes…”
  3. “Who was coming after you?”
    • “The Crown, the darkness, I cannot stop them, so I hid.”
  4. “Who are you?”
    • “I am Ramie, a follower of Savras, a seer of strings.”
  5. “Why did you keep drawing the crest of Halia?”
    • “At first, my lord guided me to the library, the restricted section, the celestials. The myth of the Golden City, lost to time, lost to all of us. There is a thread of fate connecting us, and he revealed it to me that I might follow. And so I did. I saw. The burning star that would end us all.”
  • Mal helps carry the corpse out of camp (but not before putting it inside the bag of holding first… for discretion’s sake… LOL) and Fugue buries Ramie and performs some evilweird Sharran burial rites
  • Mal reads the books she got from Ramie’s basement
    • The Celestial book is older – a place referred to as the Golden City bears the same symbol as the crest of Halia
    • Pan recalls: Golden City is a mythical city called Zenith; Golden City is the colloquial term in the Celestial Plane

Moonmaiden Temple

  • As the party turns in for the night, Fugue gets a Perception check
    • Both Fugue & whoever’s Sneaking around get a Nat 20 but the other guy had a higher modifier probably… sad!
  • Next morning, something’s amiss
    • Arran the dragonborn scout hasn’t come back from watch, Kaylin jumps to the assumption that it’s Hex’s revenge for catching their spy
    • Seems like Kaylin knows something about Riza
  • Fugue leads the party to where Kaylin marked the map: a derelict Selûnite temple
    • There’s this moment where Fugue feels the moonlight of Selûne reaching for him, but Fugue grasps his Sharran amulet and feels the Dark Lady’s embrace instead. Which could mean nothing!
  • Inside: there’s a small circle of white light surrounding a man kneeling before the altar
    • It’s the Lord Marcoh Rosenz, Kivia’s brother and Lady Camilla’s useless husband
    • He was praying to keep Kivia safe; he’s worried about what she’s been doing
    • His parents are/were dead, and he was born in the capital
  • There’s a huge crest of Halia in the middle of the floor tiling
    • It’s customary/mandated to incorporate this design in all the temples
  • Big red hairs scattered around, belonging to a monster. Probably shouldn’t touch it
  • Fletcher finds a chitinous husk of a monster… hook horrors! D:
  • Mal sees a single set of footprints to/from the hallway off of the main temple area
  • From the hallway: to the left there’s four rooms, and one of them has our close personal friend Juno Lux’s name on it
    • But before we could snoop around we get attacked by hook horrors :(
    • Fletcher lobs a bead of fireball necklace into a room occupied by two hook horrors
    • This combat is sponsored by Shar <3
    • We get our asses kinda handed to us, but we live to see another day
  • Findings:
    • Scroll of Sacred Flame
    • 7 gold (Fugue)
    • Place already looks like it’d been ransacked for treasure but some gay letters and Juno’s journal were left alone. So of course the party reads them all!
      • Juno’s journal entries were dated Pre-Collapse
